Great Danoodle Dogs for stud

0 Dogs found

The Great Danoodle is a designer cross between the Great Dane and the Poodle, usually the Standard variety, and is also known as the Danoodle or Great Danepoo. The cross aims to pair the Great Dane's famously gentle, easy-going nature with the Poodle's sharp intelligence and lower-shedding coat. Because it is a young hybrid rather than an established breed, the Great Danoodle is not recognised by the Kennel Club, and puppies from the same litter can differ noticeably in build and coat, ranging from short and smooth to dense and curly.

This is a large to giant dog: most adults stand between 61 and 81 cm at the shoulder and weigh roughly 32 to 50 kg, so confident handling and a reasonably spacious home help. Great Danoodles are typically affectionate, sociable and patient with children, though their sheer size means play with younger kids should be supervised. They learn quickly and respond well to calm, consistent training. Curlier coats shed little but need brushing several times a week and regular trims, while smoother coats are lower maintenance. A couple of steady daily walks plus playtime suit them well, with care not to over-exercise growing joints. Life expectancy is usually 8 to 12 years, often a little longer than that of the purebred Great Dane.

FAQs

Great Danoodles are typically gentle, affectionate and very people-oriented, combining the Great Dane's calm, easy-going nature with the Poodle's intelligence. They are loyal to their families, usually patient with children and keen to please, which makes training pleasant. Early socialisation matters mainly because of their size rather than any sharpness in character.
